e. called while i was at wendy's. they had just come to nutley street. i went from warrenton to haymarket. met e and carla inside.

we watched five little pigs on dvd after dinner. one of the better poirot stories. really liked it.

the weather continues to be beautiful. rather cold over night. nice to sleep with all of the doors and windows open.

i didn't go to bed until almost one. didn't set an alarm. i woke up at 8:30.

planning to do at least any hour with the trimmer today and clean the kitchen floor.

ran the trimmer on most of the front yard. managed to get the pool cover folded and put away. tired myself out.

knee is aching after working today. lots of squatting and kneeling down. didn't hurt at the time. stiff and sore now.

i watched good luck, chuck on dvd this evening. not bad. a little too  heavy on the fart jokes. jessica alba is very cute. i think ryan reynolds would have worked better than dane cook but d.c. was better than i expected him to be. the extended sex montage was gratuitous in the nth degree. still, i'd give it a b-. sort of like a male version of 13 going on 30 in a way.

watched part of snl as well. scarlett johanson looked wonderful. she was pretty funny too. they spoofed a show that was itself a spoof. seems to be a hobby on the show. saw part of a show called repo something. if you can answer 3 of 5 trivia questions they pay off your car loan rather than repossessing your car. dreadful idea. the stooge on the show tonight called "george w. bush" the greatest president of the u.s. and then had to guess that hydrogen was the h in h2o. he thought he lost when the announcer said his fourth answer was "correct". i guess  if you're hazy on the word "correct", it's perfectly reasonable to use "george w. bush" and "great" in the same sentence.

woke up every ten minutes between 5:00 and 6:40. got up at 6:40. nice outside. turning off the ac.

car service and dentist in fairfax city today.

had to go to ffx today. dropped the car for some work. went to the dentist. i have a cavity. have to go to the dentist again next week. darn.

weather was just beautiful.

got my hair cut after the dentist. cut way too short but i guess it will grow back.

car took a long time to finish. they say it also needs rear brakes (over $600), new tires (don't ask), a leaky seal fixed in the engine (about $600) and will soon need timing chain ($1500). will need to find a bus service out this way.

drove elizabeth to meet katherine at gilbert's corner. they are going to bethany beach for the weekend. i hope they have a great time!

first time i've been that far down 15 since they put in the traffic circles. surprised how well they work.

stopped at mcdonald's on the way home. had some chow and read the post. nice break. weather is so much nicer today.

i watched the big bang theory and the nude bomb in the evening. i saw the nude bomb at the theater when it came out. i remembered nothing about it. it generally caught the spirit of the show but it would have been nice if they had included barbara feldon.

i don't know if june is bustin' out all over but it certainly is bustin' my head. tremendous headache since i woke up. a couple of tylenols helped for a little while but it's camped above my right eye and making me miserable!

woke up at about 6:50. i thought i had slept through my alarm but i remembered that i had set it for 7:00. got up at about 7:15. fed kizzy and karma. i don't know where shanti and tino were. didn't see them until elizabeth came down.

watched the nerds and bullies episode of the simpsons.

so hot out. ac is cranked in the grocery store so when you step from the cold to the heat you feel physically sick.

we watched the special features on the king's speech. pretty interesting. also watched "jeeves the matchmaker" on dvd. not my favorite episode although there was a great dog in the story.

i fell asleep during jeeves. slept badly on monday night. i kept dreaming that david remembered why bertie stuttered and when david remembered bertie remembered. crazy.
