woke up at about 5:00 in the ack emma. must have been sleeping on my arm because it hurt like the devil. got up and walked around and shook it until it felt normal. thought about getting up then but decided to stretch my back a bit before getting up.

woke up with the alarm at about 8:00. haven't slept for this long in a very long time. definitely feel more rested.

i had an interview in dc today so i got up quite early. up and in the shower by 5:30. left the house at 6:30.

took the vre to crystal city and then took the metro to foggy bottom.

i made it to the interview about 20 minutes early. i would have been a little earlier but i barely missed the train at crystal city.

good series of interviews. met with five people between 9:20 and about 1:30. i've got my fingers crossed.

watched tv until about 8:30 when i heard mary moving around. scott was in the shower and amanda had moved to the bedroom.

we went down to breakfast at 9:00. by the time we were finished, glenn, susan, and claire had joined us.

we were invited to dinner at the mccann's with mark and stephanie.

burt came to the hotel while we were vegging. she had a good chat with mommy and karen.

we left for bill's house at about 6:30. really dark and raining and snowing when we left. we had a hard time finding the house but finally made it.

really liked the mccann's house. very high end but also very cosy.

we got to the hotel around 3:15. i stayed in the suite with s., m, and a. so i took my stuff to their room and stayed there for a while. they were playing with tom on amanda's android. very silly but sometimes very funny.

every one got together to meet at about 6:00. we discussed how to help karen get some breaks in caring for mommy. i don't think we came to any conclusions but i think karen felt better just hearing the ideas.

we went to the dav after that. arrived at the hall around 7:30. mark and stephanie went to bill's house in yorktown instead. karen was meeting friends. everyone else went to the dav.

mommy was at the place of honor but we were late so we sat at the opposite end.

came back to the hotel with mary, scott, and amanda. we followed susan who drove like a nutcase.

slept in the suite with s., m., and a. i felt bad cause amanda ended up the couch. but i guess it worked out ok.

bed was cozy. got several hours in with the mask.

i woke up at 6:00 this morning. for some reason i thought it was 7:00. got up and went down stairs.

caught up on email. did some aa work in the morning.

noticed an oil leak so i went to ferris today. they diagnosed a bad seal which they will replace for free. i also got a chance to look at the axle. right axel is clearly not a vw axel. also apparent that the change was almost certainly not made by vw. no markings on the part so you can't tell when it was installed. recommends installing a new axel.

went to tfb afterwards. transferred money from w-f savings to tfb savings. set up safe deposit box. tried debit card. it works.

at ledo's in warrenton. much busier than it was the last time i went there. good sub. i was really hungry for a steak and cheese.

went to walgreens to get a few items. then safeway.

got home around 3:00. finished the test for cq. hope i did a good job. i could have kept checking it 8,000 times over. we'll see.

checked some aa files in the afternoon. not good work. hope the next one i check will be better.

never managed to update my blog yesterday.

we moved the furniture back into the dining room in the morning so elizabeth could get some work done.

dragging in the morning. got a tiny bit of work done before i had to go to wegmans.

worked in the cafe from noon to 2. fairly busy.

worked in the front end from 2 to about 4:45. moderate early. it got really busy from about 3:30 to 4:30 and then it was slow enough that i got off about 45 minutes early.

called elizabeth to get the grocery list.

fairly short list so i was home by about 6:10. got on line for a little while. downloaded the test from cq. updated the paths right away. took a few minutes to figure out the validation error.

watched downton abbey. good episode.

spent about 50 minutes on the test. i think i made all of the needed updates. have to check it tomorrow.

can't believe it is february already. january seemed to fly by. it was pretty warm for the whole month so that made a difference.

got up a bit before 7:00.

kept thinking it was thursday so i tried to login to the new bank account to see if the check was there yet. had trouble logging in. took a while to sort it out.

phone interview at 10:00. sounded promising. i'll keep my fingers crossed.

finally have the computers reconfigured so i can be productive. got some work done.

i went down to turn on the lights for e in the evening and she came walking through the door. seemed a bit early. scared the crap out of me.

woke up at about 6:00. elizabeth had to go early to make a meeting in dc. she left around 6:20.

worked at the front from noon to about 5:20. seemed like a long day. my knees were very sore afterwards.

stopped at h-t on the way home to get a few things i couldn't find at wegmans.

got home at about 6:15. finished dishes. fed the cat etc.

got salad bar at h-t as a side dish and ended up eating it for supper.

went to bed early. very sleepy. used a new pillow and got a better night's sleep.
