slept very badly on wednesday night. really wanted to crawl back to bed when the alarm went off.

i've gotten way behind on the blog lately.

vre was about 10 minutes late and then we stood in the tunnel near roslyn for about 10 to 15 minutes. ended up getting to work about 15 minutes late.

had lunch in the cafeteria. don't remember what i ate.

my left heel was aching all day. the walk back to the metro seemed to loosen it up but it was a bit sore all night.

big salad and rolls for dinner.

karma had a glucose curve done today. she was acting strangely all evening. the vet said the curve looked almost normal. very strange.

went to get groceries around 10:00. wegmans and then h-t. anul checked me out today.

did a ton of laundry and other chores in the afternoon.

up fairly early to take the car in for work on the rear brakes.

waited at curry's for about an hour for e. to pick me up. two cats waiting there also. a really nice guy who was apparently in the army. he told me about his knee replacement surgery. says he's a real pain to go through security with. other guy there was one of this people who knows everything. reminded me a little of jeff at atlis only not quite as giant.

ran some errands in warrenton while waiting for the car.

got up in time to feed karma in the morning.

got to the vre a little early in the morning. sat near the back of the train. train stopped for 10 or 15 minutes because of a signal problem. since i was running a little late i thought i'd take the first train to come in at king street, yellow or blue. ended up taking a yellow train. yellow actually takes a lot longer. many more stops. i knew it would be longer but i was surprised by how much longer!

l'enfant is a very busy station and the signs aren't so good.

got to work about 15 minutes late.

stopped at aroma on the way in for something to drink. $2 for an orangina seems a bit steep!

slept until the alarm went off at 7:10. actually hit snooze for the first time in months. it was nice to get a little extra kip.

elizabeth is going to carolina today. we left to get the rental car at around 9:30. we saw a kitten that apparently had been hit by a car beside the road in warrenton. just across from the chik-fil-a. we came back around to see if we could help the poor thing and found that some other folks had stopped and gotten the cat out of the street. it seemed badly hurt.

a lady in petco gave us the address of a vet nearby and the other folks were nice enough to take the cat to the vet. elizabeth called later and found out the kitten had died. poor thing.

elizabeth got a ford fusion. seemed like a pretty nice car. she left for n.c. around 10:15 or so. arrived at about 7:30.

went to the library to pick up a book for elizabeth. the folks from the church were taking over the parking lot as i arrived. i was lucky to get there when i did. went to fairfax to go to the rei. traffic was rotten.

fairfax town center seems very busy.

found the umbrella i was looking for at rei. also got some socks and a new carrying case for smart card and vre card.

we got frc's today. don't know why.

got to the station around 7:00. somehow i got ahead of e. she was behind me at the light. very odd.

took the car over to curry's at about 10:00 for service. i had made the appointment for june 2 and moved it to june 9 but of course the person who changed the appointment didn't change the appointment. they were able to  take me after all. e. picked me up around 11:30 and we went to TFB and the library.

back to curry's at about 3:30. oil change and rotation were done. they said the brakes do need to be fixed. i'll probably schedule for june 23 or 30. should be about $350.

e. went back home. i stopped at wegmans on the way back. saw a few folks, picked up a few vitals.
