got started early in the day.

dishes. grocery list early.

stopped at the bank in the morning. deposited pay check, put some things in the safe deposit.

wegmans after that. got there early enough that it was terribly busy. rachel checked me out. she's wearing glasses now. she said she got into notre dame which was her first choice. brittany says maggie works in accounting a lot now which may be why i don't see her very often.

stopped at staples after that to get a calendar. dunkin' donuts for a few donuts.

dropped off groceries at home and then took the recycling to the station. it went pretty fast this time.

leftover pizza for lunch.

took my citizen watch to fenton jewelers in warrenton. it has to be sent to citizen for evaluation. fixed the band on another watch and elizabeth had a few things worked on. library after that.

the evening is a blur.

odd day. i got off at the wrong metro stop. just went into a zone and missed foggy bottom. decided to walk from farragut west rather than go back to foggy bottom. very long walk. it was nice to see a different part of town but ...

meeting about interviewing techniques from 11:30 to 2:30. lunch provided. lasagna if i remember.

met elizabeth at toscani for dinner. we had pizza. pretty good.

i was hoping to sleep in a little today because i had a doctor's appointment and would have to take the metro to work in the morning. woke up at 5:15. managed to go back to sleep for a little but woke up again at 6:00. fasting so i couldn't eat breakfast.

got on line and paid bills. then did dishes. kept thinking i had plenty of time until i was actually running a little late.

left for fairfax at 8:05. arrived at office at 8:50. doctor running late. didn't get in to the exam room until 9:45. didn't leave the office until 10:10.

got to vienna at around 7:45. there was a guy busking there. singing that alternative version of somewhere over the rainbow. there were parts of the arrangement that were out of his range. mostly sounded ok until he hit those parts. such a nice song.

planned to drive all the way home and get eggs and toast for breakfast. had to stop at wawa to go to the bathroom so i got some chow there.

drove down to warrenton at around 8:10. the parking lot i was supposed to park in was full. drove around until i found a space.

checked in for jury service. asked about the parking and the deputy said it would not be a problem where i parked.

bad headache all morning. really felt rotten waiting for the jury selection.

they show this very old film to orient you. a bit of propaganda really. needs to be updated at the minimum.

after about one hour the judge came in and said that the defendant had decided to plead guilty so we were done. got out of the courthouse at around 10:30.

called iris per her request. chatted for about 20 minutes.

went to dick's and found a lighter backpack for $25. e. asked if i could go to petsmart so i did. i figured i could have been stuck on a jury.

hair cuttery after that. took forever. it had not occurred to me that so many people would be getting hair cuts. very long wait. there was one family there who looked like they should have had their own reality tv show. one of the "dudes" was carrying not one but two knives one of them about 10 inches long.

dishes, laundry, cleaning up and a little work on the computer when i got home. i got a lot done and then the energy drained away. watched a wallender episode. to me watching wallender is like watching a police procedural done by a really bad cop. he seems to be constantly in a fog and then suddenly solves the case.

woke up at 5:00 this morning. thought about going back to sleep but decided to get up and get going.

did some chores in the early am.

train was not crowded until burke center. metro wasn't as crowded as usual. fairly chilly on the walk from foggy bottom to n street. nice day though.

kentucky won the national championship. baylor is prohibitive favorite to win tonight. both have been dominant all year.

i finally had my employee orientation today. over 90 minutes. some interesting stuff. another person started on the same day as i did and went through the orientation today. we got some swag from the company as well.

i should have eaten lunch before the orientation. i was starving by the end.

forgot my phone when leaving the office and had to come back for it. between that and carrying the swag home i nearly missed the train. as it is i just squeezed on. very crowded metro in the evening.

vre was fairly empty.

stopped at wegmans on the way home to pick up a few groceries. very slow in the store.
