i fell asleep on the couch for a while.woke up around 11:30. in bed by twelve. mask on until i got up at about 1:30  Mask on again when i went back to bed. mask off when I woke up at 5:40.

i used the bipap again last night. i slept with it for about 1.5-2 hours. i felt like i had the mask adjusted better this time. need to adjust the humidifier. need a magnifier or glasses next to the machine to make it easier to restart when i'm groggy in the middle of the night.

in the  last two nights i've only gotten up to go to the bathroom twice during the night. usual is three or four. seems to be related to the bipap. don't know why.

i've got to look at rearranging the room. hard to get to the machine as it is.

woke up at 0520 this morning. felt ok. knees, elbows not aching so much. shoulder was quite stiff.

i used the new bipap for about two hours last night. i've got to get used to take the mask off and putting it back on. went to sleep at about 2300 woke up at 0110 to go to the bathroom. to sleepy to figure out how to get the mask on.

i woke up at about 5:00 in the morning. karma came into the room. i decided to get on line since i didn't feel sleepy. onl-line for about an hour when i fell asleep again in the chair.woke up after 45 minutes feeling poorly. headache that had been a mild nuisance since yesterday was now quite bad.

went downstairs and drank oj and took some tylenol. no effect for a while. watched the news and drank tea. fell asleep for a little while. headache was a bit better when i woke up.

i got an estimate of what the bipap would cost after lunch. my share would be about $200 initially and $100 a month for the rental. i asked the dude how many months and he said "as long as you use the machine". so the full cost (my share + the insurance share would be about $5600. expensive bipap machines are aound $6000 on the internet. that's retail. Say $3500 wholesale. if you rent for two years the dme supplier makes a.most $7000 on an investment of approx. $3500 after recovering the initial investment.

simpler bipap machines run around $2000.

dragging in the afternoon. kept stopping to watch the scenes from Egypt. amazing situation.

walmart in the afternoon. then directly to the vre. the train was only about half as full as usual.

i woke up at about 4:45 this morning and felt awake. i went downstairs at about 5:00 and went between the news and espn. realized at about 6:00 that elizabeth had not come down yet. went up to see if she was sick. she had slept through her alarm.

i fed most of the cats and made coffee because e. was behind schedule. i'm very hit or miss on the coffee front. sometimes good, sometimes bad. not so good today.

did not set the alarm today. expected ice and a little snow when i get up but didn't see anything. got up at about 6:20. went down at about 6:45. watched the weather for a while.

breakfast

bagel w/ cream cheese
oj
banana
iced tea
coffee

water heater installers to come between 11:00 and 1:00. did chores in the morning and moved around furniture so the heater guys would have a clear path.

installers came at a little after 12:00. they were out by about 1:30 and said the water should be hot by 3:00.

went to the grocery store after lunch. rumors of more ice/snow over night.

very good.

we watched the body in the library on dvd. the new miss marple. interesting plot twist in this version.

after that i switched between tombstone and step brothers. lots of silliness in the one. lots of violence in the other. really excellent performance as doc holliday by val kilmer.

weather forecast that was talking about freezing rain and icing on wednesday am now seems to suggest rain instead. hope the forecast is right this time.
