when i got to piper lane they were closing the road because of high water. i tried to find the back way to the vre station but could not. i decided to go to manassas and try to catch the next train there. pretty muched guessed how to go but arrived finally.
i was paying to park when i heard the train leaving. ended up catching the last morning train.
got to work about 9:20.

sweet tater fries
iced tea
cappucino
at the m street grill
jerry and mary grace took us for lunch. it was good and it was nice to have lunch together for once. j. & m.g. and lorna, ed, and janice. found out the m.g. once worked for academic press in s.d.
very cold in the office in the afternoon.
thought i was going to miss the train at alexandria in the afternoon but it was running a little late. "thank gracious!" to quote lorna.
i did remember to get off at manassas in the evening.
stopped to get the vast majority of my hairs cut at sports clips near the vre station. very nice young woman cut my hair and did a good job.

at tropical smooth emporium near the hair cut emporium.
got home around 8:00
dinner
stir fried chicken and rice
cantaloupe salad
iced tea
watched an episode of kingdom on dvd. pleasant and inconsequential. i wish there had been footnotes to let me know who is who.
fell asleep on the couch for a while. up to bed at 11:30.
