hot today. so hot in the early am that i had to head downstairs and deploy two fans for cooling. did not sleep well. went down early and watched the 2nd half of high fidelity.

i like high fidelity a bit more each time i see it but it has the fundamental flaw that rob is an indefensible ass. that seems to be part of the point of the movie but it is hard to overcome the fact that you can't really like the central character. I get a big kick out of Todd Louiso as Dick and Joan Cusack as Liz. CZJ is very hot as Charlie. Lisa Bonet, as Marie, does well but leaves my cold. Clearly she's supposed to be tres hot. She doesn't work for me. No heat at all.

lots of pain in my knees and rt hip this morning. took some tylenol which really knocked me out for some reason.

something screwy with e's computer. managed to get it working again and finally installed the new anti-virus. that's been on my list for some time.

didn't really have a lunch today. had a little bit of this and a little bit of that. bad idea. much better to make something for lunch.

got to see the last 20 minutes of the isner:mahut match. remarkable. i don't know how they were standing.

severe pain in hip right before dinner. feel like one leg is shorter than the other. managed to find a position that gave some relief after doing some stretches.

v good. elizabeth makes a v tasty greek omelette. always makes me think of a restuarant that we went to in toronto when e. had the laser surgery. across the street from the u of toronto. i think that was 1996. wow.

hip felt much better after the stretches. actually made me sleepy.

we watched foyle's war: fifty boats on dvd last night. interesting episode. good old amanda root was a guest star. she's always pleasing to watch. crazy house in the episode. sort of arts and crafts meets buckleberry ferry. a little grotesque outside. v appealing inside.

location specialists must have a much better time in the uk.
