woke up at 5:45 to prepare for concall at 6:30. chatted with a few people on fb before the concall. lots of people up in the early ack emma.

tummy was ok overnight

spent a lot of time in the concall talking about football. kolkata very disappointed that brazil and argentina are out. very anti-europe as far as football goes. big fans of s.a. style football.

queen elizabeth in nyc today.

went to the library in the early afternoon. checked out a book by wodehouse, a book by rushdie and a book on tape by orson scott card. so hot!

lunch

spicy chicken sandwich
fries
iced tea
chocolate shake

at chik-fil-a in warrenton. tasty but i think it was a mistake to eat spicy food. my stomach is not quite back to normal.

i was planning to go to the grocery store on the way back home but the combination of the heat (99 according to my car) and the spicy food had my stomach turning flips. i came home instead.

there was a deer in the shade on the hill of the brilliant green jade when i drove up. it didn't see me but i watched as it noticed the dog next door coming over to the fence. the deer pawed the ground a few times and then as the dog got closer run off to the woods at the back of the yard. that also spooked the other deer that i didn't see. it was on the slope of the hill near the shed.

got to see the end of the holland v. uruguay match. pretty exciting.

dinner

egg and cheese sandwich
pickles
iced tea

i should have skipped the pickles. didn't really feel like eating so an egg sandwich was a bit of a compromise.

we watched two episodes of doc martin on pbs. fairly enjoyable. certainly not all creatures great and small!!

87 deg at 10:15 pm. very hot. supposed to be hotter tomorrow.
