slept until the alarm went off at 7:10. actually hit snooze for the first time in months. it was nice to get a little extra kip.
elizabeth was already up when i got up.

elizabeth is going to carolina today. we left to get the rental car at around 9:30. we saw a kitten that apparently had been hit by a car beside the road in warrenton. just across from the chik-fil-a. we came back around to see if we could help the poor thing and found that some other folks had stopped and gotten the cat out of the street. it seemed badly hurt.
a lady in petco gave us the address of a vet nearby and the other folks were nice enough to take the cat to the vet. elizabeth called later and found out the kitten had died. poor thing.
elizabeth got a ford fusion. seemed like a pretty nice car. she left for n.c. around 10:15 or so. arrived at about 7:30.

feeling hungry after dropping e. off. stopped at denny's on the way home.

caramel macchiato at starbucks in warrenton. quite good.
checked email when i got home and then took a shower to do some chores.
went back to warrenton to get two watches fixed and to check on my ecodrive watch. the jeweler said she should her back in a week or two. the watch maker has worked on it and needs to track down a few parts before giving an estimate.
went to the library to pick up a book for elizabeth. the folks from the church were taking over the parking lot as i arrived. i was lucky to get there when i did. went to fairfax to go to the rei. traffic was rotten.
fairfax town center seems very busy.
found the umbrella i was looking for at rei. also got some socks and a new carrying case for smart card and vre card.

at cpk. very slow service but the food was good. walked around the mall a little after lunch. noticed that they had a pinkberry. tried the caramel. very good.

stopped at wegmans on the way home. traffic still heavy. picked up a few things. saw jill and kerry and michaela and evan and jaime. nice to see folks. store was busy.
got home around 4:30 and fed karma. did dishes. planned to do more but decided to take it easy today and do most of the work tomorrow.
