jury duty today. got to sleep in a little later. up at 6:00.

drove down to warrenton at around 8:10. the parking lot i was supposed to park in was full. drove around until i found a space.
checked in for jury service. asked about the parking and the deputy said it would not be a problem where i parked.
bad headache all morning. really felt rotten waiting for the jury selection.
they show this very old film to orient you. a bit of propaganda really. needs to be updated at the minimum.
after about one hour the judge came in and said that the defendant had decided to plead guilty so we were done. got out of the courthouse at around 10:30.
called iris per her request. chatted for about 20 minutes.

at denny's. either i was dehydrated or the caffeine helped because my headache gradually went away.
denny's was very crowded.
i went to wegmans after that. i forgot my prescription on tuesday so i had to pick it up today. saw linda and bill and a few other folks. big stink going on about cashiers in the cafe being prohibited from talking.
went to dick's and found a lighter backpack for $25. e. asked if i could go to petsmart so i did. i figured i could have been stuck on a jury.
hair cuttery after that. took forever. it had not occurred to me that so many people would be getting hair cuts. very long wait. there was one family there who looked like they should have had their own reality tv show. one of the "dudes" was carrying not one but two knives one of them about 10 inches long.
dishes, laundry, cleaning up and a little work on the computer when i got home. i got a lot done and then the energy drained away. watched a wallender episode. to me watching wallender is like watching a police procedural done by a really bad cop. he seems to be constantly in a fog and then suddenly solves the case.
elizabeth got home at about seven

found notting hill on cable. actually watched it with the sound off for a while.
finally got in touch with mommy in the evening. she did get the package. it looks like the lawyer will be able to file the needed info.
