i think e may have been up almost all night. sinus problems. she may need to sleep in this morning.

woke up at 5:00 am. room is very stuffy. i was going to get up at 5:30 but went ahead and got up at 5:00. i read a couple of chapters of high fidelity when i got up.

breakfast

e did get up at the regular time. crazy kid. drove to the vre in the rain.

very heavy rain around the area today. flooding this morning in dc and fairfax among other places.

snack

egg and swiss sandwich
iced tea

concall at 9:00. v short. project is going smoothly.

lots of work today. keeping me busy.

lunch

bologna and swiss sandwich
potato salad
dill pickle spears (2)
apple
iced tea

lots of writing for work today. eyes have been glued to the computer longer than usual. actually got bogged down in work and lost track of the time. had to jump in the shower and then run to get to the vre in time.

we watched another episode of doctor findley this evening. you get doc martin in cornwall, doctor findley in scotland, dr. herriot and his vet. partners in the dales in england. and yet i still have no idea of the geography of england. i know scotland is in the north and liverpool is on the irish side of the island. oxford is to the west of london near the cotswolds. not much more.

when we were in london in 2001, we went to charing cross station to get tickets to oxford. the agent looked at us like we were insane. told us you get tickets to oxford at paddington station. like that was something the merest child should know.
