woke up at about 3:00 and read for about 30 minutes. woke up at 5:45. read for about an hour. finally got up and went down a little before 7:00.

finished hornets nest after breakfast. going to try to change the battery in the mower.
1750 70 deg f partly cloudy
tried to install the new battery. found out i had the wrong type. damn! took out the old battery just to make sure i could do it. went to home depot to exchange the battery.

at panda express in manassas.
installed the new battery. wondered whether it would
- start,
- explode, or
- do nothing
it cranked nicely on the first try but didn't start. i worked with the choke on the second try and it started and ran much more smoothly. spent 3 hours cutting just part of the lawn. the whole time i was mowing it was cloudy and raining off and on. 20 minutes after i put away the mower the sun came out.

watched apollo 11 while i did dishes.

worked on the computer after chores and shower. very stiff and sore in the evening.

we watched an episode of foyle's war in the evening. didn't care much for this episode. last episode of the 2008 season. the last season, 2010, sounds very familiar. i think we saw these episodes when pbs aired them.
