woke up when the alarm went off at 4:55. glad to see the power back on.

ran for the train in the am. i actually got on with about a minute to spare but everyone else was scampering so i thought i had missed the warning whistle.
dark almost the whole way on the train. couldn't actually see where we were for most of the trip.
stopped at whole foods on the way to work. the loving contempt you get from the cashiers at whole foods always puts a bounce in my step.
very humid on the walk from foggy to the office. overcast all morning.
ed came in in the morning and showed us his cousin's performance on the voice. not my kind of music but she did very well and three of the four judges (are they judges?) picked her.

the rain came down in buckets in the afternoon. tornado warnings all over the place. some folks went home early to beat the storms.

left the office at about 4:30. thought i might get soaked but i only had to use my umbrella off and on during the trip.
train was very crowded (6 cars instead of 8) and traveled very slowly because of flash flood warnings. didn't get back to broad run until about 30 minutes late.
elizabeth and candy went to the air and space museum at chantilly and had a good time. e. bought me a t-shirt.

stir fried chicken and veg.

we watched antiques roadshow (us), sherlock holmes (the second stain), and frasier in the evening. got online before bed.
