today is donna garban's birthday.
used my phone as an alarm this morning. didn't know if would wake me up. it actually worked pretty well. set it about 10 minutes earlier in case the power was still off.

didn't get to park as close as usual at the vre but was on the train with about five minutes to spare. not as crowded as usual. read the paper again.
metro was not so crowded at all.
i've been using a lot of cough drops today. coughing, sneezing, headache. delightful!

from the uptowner. no ac in there when i went in. crazy hot. don't know how the staff handles it!

really good salmon from the cafeteria.
caught the usual train in the afternoon. met elizabeth at broad run. we were going to go to red robin for dinner but it was simply too busy. we went to toscani instead.

calamari wasn't very good. salad was so so. chicken was pretty good. linguini was over cooked. not successful over all. elizabeth's meal was no good at all.
