did not take notes on saturday. this is what i remember on monday.
i was thinking at would walk at mariner's museum while karen went for a run. slept too late. karen was gone when i got up.
claire went to the hospital early so she could get on the road as early as possible.
woke up glenn at 9:30. glenn and i went to hardee's for breakfast
breakfast
sausage/egg mcmuffin
ham/egg frisco sandwich
iced tea
sausage/egg good. frisco so so.
we met karen and claire and burt at the hospital. nurses were saying that they would do a new colonoscopy on saturday. claire decided to stay until the procedure was finished.
hospital allows pretty wide open visiting on sat./sun. very good staff at hospital!
got a candy bar at around 3:00. subway, cafeteria were closed at that time.
we took shifts in mommy's room so it wouldn't be too crowded.
no lunch
finally begin steps to actually do the procedure at around 4:30. we decided to go to dinner and come back at 6:30.
arranged with scott and mary to meet us at the restaurant.
dinner
club sandwich
onion rings
cole slaw
iced tea
food was good. rings were excellent. atmosphere of restaurant was not so nice. quaker steak and lube. reminded me of curly's garage in charlottesville many years ago but curly's was nicer.
we all went back to the hospital at 6:30. procedure was complete.
mommy was very much better. she had been worried about the procedure the whole time. with the procedure complete she was much more relaxed.
doctor did not see any place to cauterize or mend. he said there is an area of the colon with a fairly large number of discolorations and possible bleed sites but none actively bleeding. mommy was able to watch the colonoscopy on video was satisfied with his appraisal. karen talked to the doctor after and also was satisfied.
upshot: she seems stable now. if she has the same problem again she needs to get to the hospital as fast as possible. at that time they will probably have to remove a section of her colon. most of her colon is in excellent shape.
mommy was very sleepy afterwards. we left around 8:00.
scott and mary went to the hotel.
claire left for home. she got home very quickly. she had a long day but the drive home was probably less crowded because of the lateness.
karen went to mommy's house. glenn and i went to food lion and then to the house.
bought gold leaf tea and lemon cookies. good tea. good cookies.
karen went to bed early. glenn and i watched inception. i went to bed about 11:00. used the bipap this time.
