i woke up at 6:00 this morning. it was really cold! dropped into the 50's overnight. read a chapter of fever pitch. finally decided to get up.

i watched two episodes of the simpsons during breakfast.
the weather is just about perfect right now.

i had a brake warning light on my car so i took it to the shop today. new place in chantilly. definitely less expensive than the dealer but it took forever! definitely seems to be running better after the repair.

at the epic grill in chantilly. quite good food and relatively inexpensive. excellent fries but TONS of fries. i didn't plan to eat them all but i ended up nibbling while i finished the sudoku and ate all the fries.
met a gent assigned to the old guard. really nice guy. turned out he was a staff sergeant and was about to retire with 23 years of service. he was about 6-10 years younger than me but looked much younger.
finally got home at 6:30.

we tried a new chicken dish today. definitely needs to be fine tuned. might turn out to be a keeper if elizabeth can make some adjustments to the original recipe.
we watched the first half of the hound of the baskervilles and a poirot episode.
