woke up at about 6:00. sky looked very summery but it was pretty cool in the house. went back to sleep and got up a little after 7:00.

we decided to washington, va today. considered going yesterday but decided to work on the yard instead. it takes about 45 min. to get there.
nice quite little town in rappahanock county. most places were not open on sunday. we did see the courthouse and the inn at little washington. a number of b&b's in the downtown. very pretty town but almost nowhere to eat.
we were told that there were a few restaurants in sperryville. really wanted something simple like a mcd's or a subway. didn't see anything of the like. we ended up at the thornton river grille.

almost got hit by a car in the parking lot.
it was a nearly perfect day for a drive.

we watched an episode of doc martin followed by singin' in the rain on tcm. the bandwagon was coming on after singin' in the rain but we had to go to bed.
