31 January 2011

31 jan 2011 (m)

can't believe it is the last day of January!

i woke up at about 2:30 in the morning with everything aching. between digging snow and moving furniture and mopping over the last few days I've used muscles that I don't usually use. I went to the bathroom and took an Aleve. I don't remember anything after that until the alarm went off at 6:05. when I got up at 6:05 my knee did not hurt and my shoulder was just mildly sore.remarkable.

breakfast

bagel w/ cream cheese
banana
oj
coffee
iced tea

drove elizabeth to the vre. schools were open today so we got hung up by school buses and the vre station was very busy for the first time in several weeks. the snow in the driveway caused a bottleneck on the way into the station. looked like we might miss the train but e. managed to catch it.

started listening to to kill a mockingbird on the way to the gym. lots of fun so far. i read the book years ago but don't remember it that well.

gym

18 minutes on the treadmill, moderate speed
20 minutes weights
12 minutes on the bike, weight loss program

tried to do the treadmill with more hands free. seems to have more benefit for the core muscles if you don't hold on to the treadmill.

snack

ham, egg, and cheese biscuit
iced tea

at arby's

lunch

peanut butter and jelly sandwich
iced tea

22:28 30 deg F, a bit sleepy

got caught up in the afternoon and had to run downstairs to get to the vre on time. always seem to lose track of time after lunch.

it was starting to snow as we returned from the vre. or it may have been freezing rain.

dinner

veg. burger
brussels sprouts (frozen)
iced tea

sprouts were terrible. still hungry after burger, so i also had

two hot dogs w/ mustard and onion (no bun)

antiques road show in the evening. found a comfortable position on the couch and snoozed for 30 min or so.

when i was asleep i thought i heard casi barking. made me a bit sad.

supposed to be freezing rain over night. roads should be ok later in the am. doesn't seem to be doing anything now.
