i woke up at about 5:30. couldn't go back to sleep.

chatted with fred this morning. he was getting ready to work on his yard. he came over to look at our problem tree. he thought he might be able to use a rope and his 4x off-road vehicle to bring the branch down. maybe he'll try it tomorrow.

cleaned the kitchen a little this morning. need to finish tomorrow.

knee very sore after kneeling down to turn the hose on outback.

lunch

veggie sandwich (half)
caesar salad (half)

at panera. pretty good. about $3 more than mcdonalds.

i went to the library in the afternoon. elizabeth has a whole stack of books in progress so she went for a walk.

stopped at h-t on the way home.

we were just sitting down to dinner when we realized that fred was working in the backyard. i went back to see if i could help. the man is indefatigable. he managed to pull the big branch down. then he came back over with a pole pruner with a chainsaw attachment and cleaned up the red bud near the deck. he started at 9:00 in the morning and i helped him just a little for about 45-60 min and he wore me out. amazing guy!

i had eaten part when i went out to see how fred was doing. didn't feel well after.

we watched "the hide" on foyle's war. really good episode.
