i woke up at about 7:15 this morning. very stiff back. i guess i overdid some of the exercises at the gym yesterday.

house is strewn with sleeping cats. apparently this is perfect cat sleeping weather.

we decided to go to culpeper this afternoon. weather was very nice and it's only about 45 minutes away. had to find out where the courthouse is anyway.

we stopped at mcdonald's on the way over for lunch

lunch

bacon cheese burger
large fries
iced tea

i thought elizabeth would want to share the fries but she didn't. i should have gotten a regular order of fries.

we had a pretty good walk around culpeper. i took a loop to see where the parking was around the courthouse. got a bit overheated walking in the sun. stopped at the frost cafe in culpeper and got an iced tea. elizabeth joined me there and gave me some tylenol. with the tea and the tylenol i felt better.

i got a call from karen while i was at the frost cafe. mommy is in the hospital again. appears to be congestive heart failure. she'll be in for at least a few days. we hope to be able to manage her move a bit sooner. the stairs in the old apartment are just getting to be too much. new place has an elevator and apartment is on one level.

at starbucks in culpeper. nice shot of espresso. way too expensive.

we stopped at harris-teeter on the way home to get a few items.

excellent tuna melts. e. did a great job today.

i watched the end of midnight run while e. was cooking. it really holds up pretty well. we watched the pilot for st. elsewhere on dvd. good episode. some over-cooked acting but generally quite good.
